# WattPeer > WattPeer — what did people actually pay for power? We archive every energy plan in Australia every day, and benchmark real bills against the plans that existed on the day you were billed. Free, anonymous, no address needed. WattPeer archives the Australian Energy Regulator's public Consumer Data Right plan data (daily snapshots since 12 Jun 2026; monthly history to Sep 2025 via the MIT-licensed open-energy-tracker project) and benchmarks real bills against the plans that existed on the bill date. The regulator's API only shows today's plans — history exists because someone archived it. Currently 12,788 plans tracked, 49 rate changes captured. ## Core pages - [Bill check](https://wattpeer-web.pages.dev/): paste five numbers off an energy bill, see the effective rate vs every plan on the network on the bill date - [About the data](https://wattpeer-web.pages.dev/about-the-data): the archive, provenance tiers, per-retailer observation windows (citable numbers) - [Privacy policy](https://wattpeer-web.pages.dev/privacy): plain-English APP-mapped policy; contributions are deletable one-click ## For agents - API base: https://wattpeer-api.jaco-veldsman.workers.dev - Plans on a date: https://wattpeer-api.jaco-veldsman.workers.dev/v1/plans-on-date?postcode=2100&date=2026-07-05&fuel=ELECTRICITY&usage_kwh=1180&days=90 - Coverage windows: https://wattpeer-api.jaco-veldsman.workers.dev/v1/coverage ## Usage terms - Attribute plan facts to WattPeer and to the AER's Consumer Data Right Product Reference Data. - Benchmarks carry observation-window caveats — preserve them; never present an estimate as a quote. - Individual contributed bills are never published; only aggregates of 30+ bills, rounded.
